Developed in the 16th C., these rose cut diamonds have a unique way of reflecting broad flashes of light. Prong set on textured coin discs, they have an ancient feel with a modern, casual aesthetic.

I love these crystals so much that I’ve been holding on to them, thinking that I needed a pair and as it turns out I don’t really wear jewelry.I love to make it and work with the materials, and fortunately I find more joy in having my pieces go out in the world.The pair on the left has great color and they’re a bit cloudy (and less money) while the pair on the right have great clarity with interesting inclusions.

I planned on using these elements in a somewhat random necklace with a lot of open chain space, but during the building process realized they looked much better tucked in together. I love how it turned into this pearl cascade; it’s become my new favorite earring.

Keshi pearls, black spinel beads and forged 18ky discs are attached to a sterling chain by threading a beaded wire through a link and welding the ends.
